'Home from Home' - beautiful surroundings, nutritious meals, kind and professional care.

We moved our 86-year old mom from Hillcrest to The Vales nearly a year ago.
She is so happy in this tranquil, friendly place. The staff are incredible - patient, kind and compassionate. They engage the residents in conversation and ask about their families. The meals in the airy dining room are delicious, the bedrooms spacious and homely.
But what we love most is the caring atmosphere created by Val and Ruth and all the staff.
The Vales feels more like HOME than 'a home'.

I have spent over 13 years working in the pre-hospital emergency medical field, and experienced great sorrow when attending to patients at various facilities for the elderly.
To say I was pleasantly surprised by the vales is an understatement! The facilities are beautiful, with lovely gardens and excellent staff. The elderly are loved and cared for by attentive staff, who handle them gently and uphold their dignity. I am grateful that my grandmother can spend her last years with such wonderful people in such a beautiful place.

The Vales is the Most Special Facility for the Aged that I have ever experienced. The Peace, and Gentleness that I felt when I first walked in and met Val Ball was just the beginning. The Facilities are Lovely, new and well cared for, and also Beautiful, with Lovely Gardens and Birds - It Feels like Home which is so important for the Residents, and for their Families Far surpassing this, is the Absolute LOVE, Tremendous Kindness and Patience that Val, Ruth and all the Lovely Care-givers have for their Residents as well as the Families of the Residents, along with high end professional care. From the day that my Precious Dad checked into The Vales, my Heart and mind were at Peace - The Love and support that Val and all the staff gave to us, the family, was phenomenal. My Dad rallied, and gave us almost 3 extra precious years, and he was so Happy, Peaceful and Content. The way that my Dad's face and smile lit up with joy each time he saw Val, Ruth or his care-givers shows beyond any question how Loved and cared for he, and the other Residents are at the Vales. I will always hold Val, Ruth, and all the Amazing care-givers in a very Special place in my Heart

Thank you so much for all the kindness, compassion and understanding. Our mother has been with you just over a year and for us,her daughters, it's been been the most peace of mind we've had in years.
Both of us live abroad and we've really needed people like you.
Being so far away has often left us feeling helpless, anxious and terribly guilty for not being there to help our mum.
Since she's been at The Vales ,she's not needed to visit the doctor as often..a great indicator that her diabetes is at long last under control.
She is no longer isolated and alone and all this as given us great peace of mind.
You truly go above and beyond in your care and communication with us.
We love you for that.

From the outset of a traumatic time The Vales has been a blessing in disguise.

Living in another country I was recommended the facility from a family member’s first-hand experience. My in-laws lived in Pretoria, both elderly and frail and one with advance stages of dementia, I had to make the decision as a matter of urgency to relocate them. From the first email and telephone calls, I was immediately put at ease and reassured any my decision was made and the move done within weeks. The love, care and support that I have personally received has been incredible. My in-laws were well taken care of, helped to adjust to their new way of life. They enjoyed whilst they could the outings, entertainment and interaction with other residents. When they were sick I was contacted and reassured and kept informed with their progress. I was welcomed on my visits and enjoyed interacting with my in-laws and the other residents. Down the line my father-in-law had to be moved into the frail care centre and this was done with ease and reassurance for him to adjust to the new surrounds.

I have no hesitation in recommending The Vales for the care of your loved ones. Sister Ball and Ruth and the nursing staff have made life for my in-laws happier, safer and well cared for. The well-being and dignity of their patients is their top priority.

The Vales is a highly recommendable CARE facility where exceptional care is given in a very professional way. Patients are treated with love and without losing their dignity. The wound care staff under the guidance of Val is outstanding. I would highly recommend The Vales for an elder Care home, specializing in Alzheimer and Frail Care. The love, care and individual attention each patient gets from the staff is noteworthy.
