My husband Donald passed away at the Vales on 30th June this year after nearly 6 years of being in care at the Vales in Pennington.

During that time I often gave grateful thanks that my son was able to fund the care his father, which was so needed. I was absolutely beside myself when I was advised to look for care for Donald and did not know who to turn to when I recalled seeing an article in our local Mail showing the opening of the Vales. I put out a call to Val who said she could accommodate Donald. The move was quick and devastating for me but the best decision ever for Donald. His care was constant and monitored by Val and Ruth and without them I have no idea what I would have done.

However, I could never have believed that his care would go on for the time that it did but in all that time, I knew I could call on Val for the ups and downs of life…and she was always there for me. The Vales proved to be my saving grace in this long and eventually sad journey.

Thank you to Val, Ruth and the Staff who became, in real terms, extended family. We thank them dearly for their much needed support and guidance along a very difficult road in this life and wish them all well.
